Testing robot vacuums I can say this is, hands down, the best robot vacuum on the market but it's also the most expensive. If you can deal with the price, this is the vacuum that will save you time and grief.

While the allure of lidar mapping, AI-obstacle avoidance, and automatic emptying docks cannot be denied, one of the common challenges faced by most robot vacuums is their reliance on a single small brush to tackle all the dirt. Often, this results in bristle brushes becoming entangled with hair and losing their effectiveness. Vibrarise 2.0 technology is meant to clean the dirtiest floors. The reason this is the most advanced robot vacuum in the world is that the system is self-running. Roborock says the S8 is meant to keep floors clean for weeks at a time with no human intervention.
Drawing from my experience testing robot vacuums, I've found that Roomba's superior cleaning power can largely be attributed to its dual rubber roller brush system. These brushes rotate in opposite directions, effectively capturing more grime while minimizing tangling issues. Moreover, they boast a larger size compared to most competitors for more efficient cleaning. Now, Roborock has taken a page from Roomba's playbook by upgrading their S8 vacuums to feature not one brush like the S7, but two rubber roller brushes and beat them at their own game.

For the best robot vacuum available, you will be accepting a superior price as well for the top model (S8 Pro Ultra is $1599 retail). Among these cutting-edge vacuums, the standout model is the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, which promises exceptional cleaning performance and innovative features. The more you pay, the less involved you need to be with keep the floor clean.
The regular S8 is a mopping robot that ships with a standard charging dock. The S8+ ships with an auto emptying dock. The S8 Pro Ultra has the full-tilt docking station. This robot vacuum announces when it's done cleaning though before returning to its self-cleaning, self-drying, self-draining, self-filling dock.

This enhanced suction power enables the S8 Pro Ultra to efficiently eliminate dust, dirt, stains, and debris from various surfaces, including carpets, hard floors, and more. It could still do a better job with intense cleaning jobs but the obstacle avoidance is excellent.
With its advanced AI-powered obstacle avoidance, the S8 Pro Ultra seamlessly detects (Lidar) carpeting, navigates around furniture and other objects, ensuring a thorough and hassle-free cleaning experience.
Revolutionary All-in-One Docking Station
Roborock has also introduced an all-in-one docking station called the RockDock Ultra for the S8 Pro Ultra. This state-of-the-art self-cleaning docking station not only provides automatic dustbin emptying but also incorporates additional features such as mop washing, hot air mop drying (to prevent mold growth), and is self-emptying (dirty water) and the water tank refills itself with clean water.

The S8 Pro Ultra also supports voice control through popular virtual assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, enabling users to conveniently operate the robot with voice commands, the unit also speaks to disclose its intentions.

Both the S8 and S8 Pro models is one of the most fully-equipped vacuum and mop combo robots. AI-powered obstacle avoidance and a built-in mop that automatically adjusts its height when detecting carpet, preventing it from dragging a damp cloth across carpeted areas.

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra robot vacmop represents a significant advancement over its predecessor, last year's Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. While the S7 MaxV Ultra introduced impressive features, such as lidar mapping and AI. Lidar uses light waves to map out physical features. It boasts AI-obstacle avoidance and a feature-rich dock. Notably, the upgraded dock includes warm air drying to prevent mold growth on the mopping pad and a more refined appearance.
This convenient functionality retracts the brushes when mopping, allowing the vacuum to handle larger spills without causing any damage. Roborock has also made improvements to the mopping system. However, it's important to note that these enhancements are relatively minor considering the $200 increase in price in its flagship robot vacuum.
Top Five Vacuum and Mop Robots (2 are Roborock)Having tested the S7 last year, I was impressed by its mopping capabilities. It oscillates 3,000 times per minute, providing a thorough scrubbing of your floors. However, it lacked obstacle avoidance, resulting in occasional entanglements with stray shoes or socks. This drawback has been addressed in the S8 Plus model. While the S8 is compatible with the redesigned RockDock auto-empty dock, it does not support the Ultra dock, requiring manual cleaning of the mop.
In addition to their robot vacuum lineup, Roborock is expanding their range of manual vacuums with the Dyad Pro. Priced at $449.99, this wet-dry vacuum excels at both sucking up spills and vacuuming carpets and floors. With its powerful 17,000 Pa suction (3X average), the Dyad Pro can effectively clean messes as close as 1mm to the wall.
It automatically adjusts cleaning power, water flow, and even dispenses cleaning solutions based on different floor scenarios. While it does require manual operation, the Dyad Pro offers the convenience of self-cleaning and self-drying after each cleanup session.
